In this episode, B'nai B'rith International CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin talks with Stefanie Halpern, the assistant director of the archives at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York. Halpern received her Ph.D. in Jewish Literature from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, where she focused on the influence of the Yiddish stage on American theatrical culture. During this episode, Mariaschin and Halpern discuss the history of Yiddish theatre, as well as Halpern's work as the assistant curator of the highly successful exhibition "New York’s Yiddish Theater: From the Bowery to Broadway," which was shown at the Museum of the City of New York in 2016. Halpern also mentions the upcoming debut of YIVO’s new online class called “Oh Mama, I’m in Love! The Story of the Yiddish Stage!”
